Ringbolt Hot Springs is one of the most exiting spots near Hoover Dam.
Don’t miss the natural corridor with hot water gushing.
Liberty Bell Arch
In a downward direction of Hoover Dam, there are four hot springs in general.
This time I am going to hike to Ringbolt Hot Springs from White Rock Canyon Trailhead.
The left side is the old Route 93, and the right side is the trail to the hot springs.
Another option is the hike to Liberty Bell Arch, with the brief detour.
Additional 3-mile is needed; maybe a good option for a hardy hiker.
Damming the Slot Canyon
The trail to the hot springs is around 6-mile for a round trip.
The north route is relatively easy.
The south route is a little bit technical, going through the slot canyon.
I chose the south route for the outward and the north route for the return, which was eventually a good choice.
You can jump into the steep slot canyon, but it must be more difficult to climb up this.
Usually slot canyons in the dry region do not have water on the river bed.
However I finally found the bluish water, which was the destination.
Many gaps on the monoliths are the water outlets.
The clear and odorless water is around 122 degrees F.
The white things are mineral deposits.
Several flows join together and make the hot water river.
It is waist-deep when sitting on the bottom.
The pool becomes very comfortable temperature around 109 degrees F.
In the downstream I found sand bags damming the stream.
I now realized that the pool was artificially made for a soak.
Actually this is the hiking trail itself; sometimes hikers come and go here.
After getting over another sand bags area, the last pool is here.
The water becomes lukewarm enough to soak for a long time here.
The discharged water creates a great waterfall.
I carefully tried to climb down the steel ladder.
People who came from the north route are subject to enter the hot springs climbing up the ladder.
This must be one of the best climaxes of a hiking.
The water soon disappeared to the riverbed of the extremely narrow canyon, and then I reached the Colorado River.
Renting a boat at Willow Beach can be efficient to visit all the hot springs in a downward direction of Hoover Dam.
