Indeed, soaking in hot springs is widely accepted among Japanese people, and the culture relevant to hot springs has a deep history.
However, considering there are much more volcanos that can be a source of the heat in other countries, hot springs could be seen all over the world.
I keenly though it in that way, when I encountered a fantastic hot spring that we should experience even if we need to cross the ocean.

Do you like a private bath?
When you want to be alone, or to stay with your family, a private bath would be the best choice.
However, most private baths lack a sense of openness in a closed space surrounded by walls.
I had thought that way since I knew an alternative option of “partially” private baths in the desert.

Do you know what ultra-Plinian eruption is?
Volcanic activities sometimes have destructive influence on human society.
Out of them, ultra-Plinian eruption brings on a particularly large explosion that causes global change in environment and mass extinction.
Around such supervolcano, hot springs have been gushing over one million years after the eruption.

Do you know San Miguel de Allende?
Many American people lives in the city after retirement, and that is probably why there has sophisticated air that is different from any other cities in Mexico.
On the contrary, there you can find the very Mexican way in some aspects at the hot spring.

What do you think the difference between an open-air bath and a swimming pool?
There may be several elements such as water temperature, depth, necessity of clothing, and whether swimming is allowed or not, but none of them seem to completely define an open-air bath.
However, when I soaked in an “open-air bath” in Mexico, I felt like realizing the essence.

What do you think the biggest enchantment of Mexico?
In my opinion, it may be a kind of roughness both in a positive and negative way.
Especially in terms of hot springs, the roughness often realizes wild free-flowing use of the spring.

Which do you like peaks or valleys?
This time, I will visit an unfinished resort with hot springs, which is located at the bottom of a deep valley where the seventh-highest bridge in the United States is spanning.
